Dream Catcher

(F21 t-shirt, Pleasure doing business bandage skirt, F21 oxfords, Balenciaga bag, F21 dream catcher necklace& bracelet, All rings antique) Photos:Lindsey Evans & D
D, Linds, Jen and I all went out to Brooklyn on Sunday for Lind's bf art show. The show was good, mostly conceptual pieces. I understood and appreciated the time and skill most of them took. But the logic and understanding of them was beyond me. I didn't really "get" what some of them meant but I guess you're either not supposed to, or its all up for interpretation....i.e conceptual installations. I wore this pleasure doing business skirt which its only when I'm wearing it that I remember just how annoying it really is. But I paired it with a basic baggy white t-shirt and this dream catcher and feather necklace, 5 antique cocktail rings on 4 fingers, oxfords and I was quite pleased. The necklace really makes an outfit, and for just 13.00 I think every girl should have one!!!!

Mint

(Vintage beaded tunic, F21 shorts, Vintage bag, J Simpson clogs, Kenneth Jay Lane enamel animal cuffs, Antique diamond ring, random Seth and Dashiel design bracelets, Vintage rhinestone bracelet-ring thing,Nail Polish Essie mint green)Photos:Lindsey Evans
As I've said in previous posts MY favorite color right now is this minty green. I'm drawn to it in rings, nail polish, dresses, you name it... Its so fresh, clean and very cheerful. I might have gone a little overboard wearing this beaded tunic number with the matching nails but trust me when I say that was not planned. Once again I'm wearing my J Simpson clogs, but can you blame me? They make me feel 9 feet tall, shape your calves, and they are the perfect neutral color to pair with all my obscure outfits. I had an unfortunate accident with all of my photos from Georgia, they are lost somewhere in my computer and don't seem to want to be found...sad face. Luckily D's step dad loaded them onto his comp and is sending me a cd so I will be able to post them a little later on. I'm back into the swing of things in the city, working hard, taking pictures every chance I get, hanging with friends and spending time with the love of my life (D, duh.) and working on new projects. Fashion night out, vacations and collaborative projects with bloggers and designers. Keep posted for new details, and feel free to leave comments with any and all feed back and suggestions. Hope everyone is staying cool in the heat wave.
xx,
t

Heat Wave

(Vintage dress, Ksubi sunglasses)

Just got home from a beautiful weekend in Georgia and there's a ridiculous heat wave going on! It's legitimately 102 degrees. I tried to muster up enough energy and motivation to get some errands done before I head back to work tomorrow. I bravely ventured outside and visited 2 of my favorite vintage stores. Picked up 2 new blue sequin numbers that I desperately want to wear!!!! (i will find a rhyme or reason to) and this purple dress. Bought fruits and veggies for the week and then headed home to organized all my closets, my room and deconstructed my suitcase situation from GA. I took a lot of really great photos this weekend but my computer did something very strange and deleted them, so I'm waiting for the copies to be sent to me from D's mom!! Will post when I get them. I really wanted to take pictures in this dress outside, but sorry to any of my readers its just too f*cking hot out. So I decided to take a couple pics in my bathroom. I was actually really drawn to the blurry photos (not sure why). My glasses are borrowed perhaps permanently from D. They look better on me ;) anyway and I'm a little obsessed with my dress. Its just the right amount of old lady for me. I just got a feature q&a on "what the hellz" so keep an eye open for that....

Iris Van Herpen

What happens when Dutch designer Iris Van Herpen collaborates with United Nude? This!!!!! I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak and dance around at one of their parties in them. They are a bit difficult to wear seeing that they are about 9 inches high. But the craftsmanship is unlike any I've ever seen. If you're lucky enough to pick up 1 out the 300 pairs made DO IT!

Back to black

(Vintage Crochet dress, F21 bustier underneath, Random slip skirt, Vintage sunglasses, YSL ring, Monserat de Luca bag, J. Campbell clogs, Ornamental things necklace)Photos:Chloe
New York is a city that lives in black clothing, but come summer everyone seems to forget about it. Perhaps its the humidity, the sticky subways or that your body is moist and sweaty most of the time. The prints are bold, the colors are vibrant and black is no where to be seen. I do enjoy wearing bright cheerful garments but its also fun it slip in a random black dress here and there and really mix it up. I almost feel like I'm cheating on summer in some weird way. I bought this crochet dress from a street vendor outside a vintage store in Long Island City for $6.00. (I was sent there to make sure the sculpture for our store was being restored properly, and well I happened to pass a few vintage store so why not stop in?) Its pretty heavy, nice quality and really really see through so I had to figure out a clever way to stay cool, and not run around naked. I used this AMAZING F21 bustier with a super low back to give me shape underneath all that mesh, and a simple slip skirt. I loved the clogs with this outfit bc I felt like it was a slight variation of something my mother would have worn in the 70's...
